mai ni meriye started as an idea in 2023 seeking to learn more about the particular labors and experiences of women—as mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, and more—within the traditional family household, and society at large. the motivation for the project is the belief that there is significant generational knowledge nested in women everywhere. an ongoing project, mai ni meriye, seeks to ensure that their knowledge and way of life is archived, and widely shared. This project is a love letter to the women of dharamshala, himachal pradesh, india and women everywhere, who create and sustain life, with grit, but also grace.
